From Mila’s Paw to Yours – The Kitty House Nightstand

Dear Friends,

I have to admit something right away – I am a dog. A very proud King Charles Cavalier, in fact. But even I know when something special is meant for our feline friends.

In our home, everyone deserves a place that feels safe, warm, and close to the ones they love. I sleep near my parents’ bed every night. I like knowing they are there. Cats may act independent, but I have learned they want the same comfort—we just express it differently.

That is why my dad designed the Kitty House Nightstand.

By day, it works like a proper bedside table. There is room on top for the things humans like to keep close—books, glasses, a lamp, maybe even a photo of someone they love. But below, tucked quietly and securely, is a cozy little house just for a cat. A soft blanket or small bed fits perfectly inside, creating a calm retreat where they can curl up, nap, and listen to the familiar sounds of home.

My dad makes these from solid wood and wood solids, the same way he makes everything—with care, patience, and respect for the ones who will use it. It is sturdy, warm to the touch, and built to last through many peaceful nights. At 50 × 50 × 90 cm, it is just the right size to sit beside a bed while still giving a cat their own private space.

I may never fit inside this size of table myself, but I know comfort when I see it. And I know love when something is built to keep our companions close, safe, and part of the family.
